What they don’t have is struggle, of questions, of figuring things out together, of figuring out ourselves together. What they have is an algorithm-induced romance sprung from profiles. Their roots are lacking. Their journey underground. Our journey is upground and downground and underground and through the soil and dirt and black. Through the beautiful black and red and seeing the flowers grow above. Seeing the colors you never knew possible spring from the ground, the ground we tilled, the ground we broke and tended. Their path may seem much easier, much more paved. But what does the heart know that the brain does not? Where does it take us when we least expect it? Where do the neuropathways guide us? What new pathways are we creating? What new world are we birthing? What Love is this? JEO 12.31.17
